Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a Microsoft service that delivers a full Windows desktop and applications from the cloud, rather than from a physical PC. Users connect from any device, and the desktop itself runs securely inside Microsoft Azure.
For businesses with distributed teams, seasonal staff, or a need for consistent, centrally managed desktops, AVD can remove a lot of the complexity of managing physical hardware in multiple locations.
It isn't the right fit for every business — organisations with heavy local hardware dependencies or very small, stable teams may not see a strong return. A short assessment of your current setup is usually the fastest way to know whether AVD makes sense.
